Dear Esteemed Colleagues and Friends,
We warmly invite you to the 41st Congress of the European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis and the 30th Conference of Rehabilitation in Multiple Sclerosis (RIMS), set to take place on 24–26 September 2025 in the vibrant city of Barcelona, Spain.
It has been 10 years since Barcelona was the host city of our ECTRIMS congress. The world has changed since then, witnessing significant advancements in technology, healthcare, and our understanding of neurological diseases. The field of MS research has particularly flourished, marked by groundbreaking discoveries and innovative treatments that have transformed patient care and outcomes.
Barcelona, a hub of academic and scientific research, provides an inspiring setting for this year’s congress. As we convene in this city, we look forward to your participation and to the exchange of knowledge that will continue to drive forward the mission of improving the lives of those affected by MS.
We will continue to foster inclusivity and collaboration at ECTRIMS 2025. This year, we will welcome the return of our new Pre-Day, dedicated to rare inflammatory autoimmune diseases like NMOSD, MOGAD, paediatric MS, and autoimmune encephalitis. We will also maintain the tradition of hosting a Patient Community Day to share and demystify the latest insights from our congress with those directly impacted.
In line with our collaboration with RIMS, we are also thrilled to announce our new rehabilitation-focused offerings. Rehabilitation plays a crucial role in maintaining and optimising the motor functions of people suffering from MS. Technology-assisted rehabilitation approaches have proven effective in overcoming the limitations of traditional treatments. This is why ECTRIMS will be highlighting rehabilitation by creating a dedicated track in the scientific programme, and a “Rehabilitation Village” in our exhibition area.
As always, we are grateful for the Scientific Programme Committee, who has curated a compelling and educational programme for ECTRIMS 2025, featuring Scientific Sessions, Hot Topic Sessions, and Educational Sessions, complemented by Free Communications, Young Investigator Sessions, Poster Sessions, and Meet-the-Expert Sessions.
Embracing the evolving nature of scientific gatherings, ECTRIMS 2025 will uphold a hybrid format, ensuring the seamless integration of attendees in person and virtually.
We look forward to welcoming you to Barcelona in September 2025, where we will collectively harness our expertise and shared dedication to improve the lives of individuals affected by multiple sclerosis and related conditions.
Warm regards,
Xavier Montalban and Mar Tintoré | Local Chairs
Bruno Stankoff | ECTRIMS President
Olga Ciccarelli | ECTRIMS Vice President
