Sustainability Commitment

Promoting sustainability in all aspects of event planning, from reducing waste and carbon emissions to championing local suppliers and establishing venues that are accessible and inclusive for all.

How ECTRIMS is Making a Difference

At ECTRIMS, our commitment to sustainability drives our event planning efforts. We strive to create congresses that not only provide a world-class educational experience but also minimise the environmental impact.

We actively work towards reducing waste and carbon emissions, recognising the importance of conserving resources for a greener future. And by championing local suppliers and establishing accessible and inclusive venues, we aim to create congresses that benefit everyone, the attendees as well as the local economies.

In addition, each year we support a local organisation in implementing their sustainable projects.

ECTRIMS Donates 1 EURO for Each Delegate

For every delegate that registers for MSMilan2023, ECTRIMS will donate 1 EURO to the local Legambiente group “Reteambiente Milano” and their Orti di Via Padova project.

Why Orti di Via Padova?

Orti di Via Padova, also known as the Padua Street Gardens, exemplify the power of collaboration and environmental stewardship in revitalising urban spaces, fostering community connections, and promoting sustainability. Established in 2014 through a collaborative effort between the City of Milan, Legambiente Milano, which has the role of coordinating the activities, the Municipality 2 of Milan, various associations, and dedicated citizens, the gardens provide a haven for both plants and people, and serve as a valuable space for social interaction and community sharing.

Reteambiente Milano

The local group Reteambiente Milano, which represents the Legambiente association in the city of Milan, has been actively involved for years in spreading and promoting volunteering initiatives to safeguard and conserve the natural environment and cultural heritage. With the help of its volunteers, the group carries out maintenance, cleaning, and custodianship of green areas and the natural environment. It promotes and organises environmental education courses and meetings to spread the knowledge of organic products and natural methods of cultivation, even within the city.

By adopting carbon footprint conscious practices, we can minimise the impact of our congresses on the environment while also promoting a more responsible approach to event planning.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

We actively strive to decrease waste and minimise plastic usage. Thus, we encourage you to bring along a reusable water bottle to the meeting. Rest assured, we have arranged for special water dispensers to be available where you can conveniently refill your bottle.

Less Traffic, Less Pollution

We strongly recommend utilising public transportation or one of Milan’s convenient bike sharing services. This choice will not only reduce traffic congestion but also help reduce air pollution.

Choose Local

Milan is renowned for its diverse and vibrant local industry. By choosing local products, you actively support its economy, sustain existing jobs, and even aid in the creation of new employment opportunities.

Be Cool, Go Paperless

We minimise paper usage to a strict minimum. Instead, we provide a conference application that is fully accessible for everyone and compatible with smartphones, tablets, and laptops.

We Go Hybrid

We recognise the importance of meeting the needs of a diverse audience, which is why we offer both digital and in-person events, with the former providing significant advantages such as enhanced accessibility and decreased environmental impact.
