The application period for the 2027 fellowship programme is NOW OPEN.

ECTRIMS offers a Clinical Training Fellowship Programme for neurologists and other physicians to provide the opportunity for successful candidates to learn the latest techniques in patient management and care and to help foster their careers as MS physicians. The training period must be under the direction of a senior clinical mentor at a European MS clinic and/or research centre and can run for 3 months, 6 months or 1 year in duration.

Key Information

1-year funded fellowships in a European laboratory or clinic.
Citizens of any country are eligible to apply to this programme. However, clinical training must be undertaken in a European clinic.
At the time of application, applicants should not have worked in any capacity at the same institution and/or under the same mentor as proposed in the fellowship application.
The application requires documents from the candidate, the proposed mentor, and the proposed host training institute, as well as other professional referees.
The applicant is responsible for collecting all supporting documents and submitting them through the online application system. All documents must be submitted as PDFs.
Fellowships must commence before the end of the calendar year in which the fellowship has been awarded.
Successful fellows and their mentors will be asked to provide progress and financial accounting reports at the end of the fellowship period.
Short-listed candidates may be asked to attend a short interview as part of the review process.
All other evaluations equal, some preference will be given to applicants from less-developed countries where MS is a prevalent disease, to provide the opportunity for clinical training in a European setting where MS is a focus.

NOTE: Institutes are not limited to any number of applications, however the same mentor may not be proposed in more than 1 application per cycle, all categories combined.Per award cycle, institutes will be limited to 3 awards total among all fellowship categories and only 1 award within any given category.
