ECTRIMS is pleased to announce its endorsement of the Austrian Multiple Sclerosis Innovation Alliance (AMSIA), is a consortium of experts dedicated to promoting and advancing multiple sclerosis research in Austria.
AMSIA supports important real-world MS research projects, fosters collaboration among specialists, and contributes to raising public awareness of MS. The overarching goal is to improve both the medical care and the quality of life of people living with MS.
A central focus of the organisation is the continued development of the Austrian Multiple Sclerosis Database (AMSD) and the Austrian Multiple Sclerosis Cohort (AMSC), two important real-world data resources that support clinical research and evidence generation. Through these initiatives, AMSIA aims to facilitate scientific cooperation, enable high-quality real-world research, and contribute to a deeper understanding of MS and related neurological conditions. The organisation also works to promote public awareness of MS and encourage interdisciplinary exchange between researchers, healthcare professionals, and the wider community.
ECTRIMS recognises the important role that high-quality data resources and collaborative research networks play in advancing the understanding and treatment of MS. By endorsing AMSIA, ECTRIMS supports its mission to strengthen research capacity, promote scientific collaboration, and help improve outcomes for people affected by MS and related neuroinflammatory diseases.
MS Connect in Vienna, Austria
ECTRIMS also welcomes AMSIA’s commitment to scientific exchange through initiatives such as MS Connect, taking place on 19–20 November 2026 in Vienna. The meeting will convene neurologists, researchers, and healthcare professionals with a shared interest in multiple sclerosis and related diseases, providing a platform for education, collaboration, and discussion on the future of MS research and care.
